About
I am currently interested in the legal perspective on impact assessment of EU foreign policy management. The varying array of issues at stake covers analysis of the legal documents within a given EU foreign policy, as well as their national implementation, in order to appraise their likeliness to produce the stated goals. Accountability issues also apply, specially as regards the contribution of a sound public management to increasing the legitimacy of the EU polity before the tax-paying citizenship.
Nevertheless, analysis of the process of launching new institutions and bodies at the EU level never ceases to tempt me. Both the shortcomings affecting those newborn EU actors and the challenge to find their own place in long-lasting interinstitutional dynamics seem to me captivating, as my studies on the EU Court of Auditors and the European Defence Agency may reflect.
Since 2006, I make part of the European Studies Research Team (Deusto University), a RT officially recognised and financially supported at the regional level. We have carried out various projects in EU matters, with a specific focus on European security issues: defence, climate change and migration.
